Cures For “Poop Breath”

Living with Halitosis“Poop breath” is one of the least talked-about breath problems of today. It embarrasses many people, because they think there might be some sort of a link between what their body excretes and the odor coming from their mouth.

But the fact is, bacteria that live in the mouth don’t live in the digestive track. The familiar smell actually comes from the decomposition of similar substances: the resulting gasses smell virtually the same in both places. Poop breath can be one of the most horrifying symptoms a person can face. Take some relief in knowing that there are some cures for poop breath.

Many cures for bad breath, including poop breath! — are in the form of home remedies. One is in the form of a mouthwash. It is important to understand that saliva is one of the most important components to fighting poop breath. When using a mouthwash that contains alcohol, you are reducing the amount of saliva in your mouth. This actually makes poop breath more prevalent. For a non-alcoholic homemade mouthwash, mix 50% water and 50% hydrogen peroxide. This way you still clean your mouth of bacteria, but do not hinder the production of saliva.

Another home remedy for poop breath is homemade toothpaste. By using everyday baking soda mixed with hydrogen peroxide to brush your teeth, you’re reducing the acidity in your mouth. This deters bacteria from growing, which will reduce the poop breath smell. The quicker you get rid of odor-forming bacteria, the quicker you will get rid of your poop breath.

Supplements are another way to prevent poop breath. Some people don’t realize it, but the deficiency of certain vitamins can actually contribute to bad breath. To make sure vitamin deficiency is not the cause of your poop breath, take vitamin B and zinc supplements. Zinc should only be taken for about ten days before consulting a physician, because high levels can interfere with copper absorption in the body. Also, sometimes excess mucus in the throat and sinuses can be the cause for poop breath. Vitamin C can help your body get rid of this excess mucus. By taking a vitamin C supplement, you can aid in the elimination of bad breath.

Poop breath affects many people, young and old. Since there are so many home remedies for bad breath, there is no excuse to be embarrassed. Take care of your poop breath at home, the simple way.

James- I feel your pain.. I’ve been dealing with the same thing for a year and a half. I discovered that o had tonsil stones that contributed to the smell. Please check if you have tonsil stones- an Ear Nose and Throat doctor can help you. O btw, I also take biaxin because I had bacteria infection my throat.. Try that as well.

James–I know exactly how you feel. I suffered with halitosis for 30 years until I eventually went to an ENT doctor. She said that I had a fungus in my throat that was causing the odor and prescribed me a 14-day antibiotic called Biaxin (generic name). On the second day of taking this antibiotic my halitosis was completely gone. It was so wonderful to be able to speak to people without fear of them grimacing or turning away. I finally feel free to pursue my dreams after 30 years of hell and humiliation. Anyway, I think you should perhaps see an ENT specialist if you havent already; you may have the same condition as me.

I’m a fellow sufferer. I’ve been looking at these websites for years. Only today have I seen the Vitamin B deficiency and the hcl remedies. (Actually I got here backwards; I was looking for information on vitamin B deficiency and anemia, and then wondered if my two life problems were linked.) Based on what I’m reading about Vitamin B deficiency, being a vegan is a major cause. Google it (vit B deficiency). If it sounds like you, maybe you need Vit B12, which will probably resolve your bad breath…and hopefully mine too!

I totally feel your pain. It makes me wanna form a website or group for people like us to hang out. I realize that GERD can contribute that holitosis. Maybe you should check it out. Hopefully it will subside your problem. I’m living the same issue, but what makes it worest is that my job require me to have face to face contact with people. Oh How I love when friends, co-workers, and customers turn their faces and hold their nose. I feel really bad. My happy mood and my selfesteem down the drain and left me embarrassment written all over my face. People problem thinking that is normal to have a day or two bad breath, which is normal for everyone… but it’s daily basis for me. I just want to die sometimes!!! God, how I wish I have a magic pill that will take that away for you, me, and everyone that suffers the same things that I do. We will keep our finger cross and keep our heads up till then. Good luck everyone!

I have suffered with this for over twenty years. I noticed when i get certain people away from me it gets better, and if you can find a really good lover that helps too. But get rid of the people that are always around you. Even if it hurt them too, you must look out for yourself and get rid of the drama that is in your life and make new friends that are positive and supportive and care about you as a person.

You are not alone. Am suffering from the same problem (I can tell that mine is worst than yours). The most worst thing is the way people treat you, people around you. My life is limited.

Sometimes it can be caused by a bad tooth or by post-nasal drip - try a visit to your dentist - you may have a cavity!

I just bought some zinc yesterday. Tried it for the first time today. Im on a mission to get rid of my breath so I got a prescription for chlorhexdine, and I am also starting to use an oxygenating toothpaste and a biotine mouthwash. Later I will get some vitamin c. If I am able to post an update in a month I will. My breath condition is quite bad, and if it works for me I will post specifics of brands I used. I have to say that nothing has worked for me so far that other people recommended online, but if this works for me it should work for quite well for others.
I will try to post an update September 10th
Thanks for the site

Wow Ive suffered from “poop” breath for 2years now this page did not help me AT ALL! I’ve tried ALL of this vitamin supp’s As for the above comment, most people who truly have this problem know about it!!!! due to peoples total lack of compassion or to put it another way piss taking!
Your complete lack of understanding (and i dont mean sympathy!)dose not help any body. Ive tried multiple toothbrushes, tongue scrapers, flossing and water jet machines. Mouthwash (alcohol/alcohol free/Hydrogen peroxide/medicated) 2 different types of oral pro-biotic (thats stuff you put in your mouth to try and balance the oral flora of the mouth).
Ive tried colon detox (aloe Vera)drinks and even using other peoples tooth brushes(with there consent) to try and maybe add some bacteria i may be missing. NOTHING HAS HELPED. Ive cut out bread/cheese/milk/eggs for a month at a time NOTHING WORKS
I’m so depressed by this and SO self conscious i completely avoid ALL contact with other people unless it is absolutely necessary.

we have had success treating this as a low graded infection, likely in the sinus. We have treated this with an apple cider vinegar tea. one teaspoon in hot water with honey to taste. we take it morning and evening. after about 2-3 weeks, the difference is amazing. Try google search for benifits of “apple cider vinegar”.

Do research for acid reflux disease and GERD. Also, try to research for tonsilitis/tonsilith. Those are the breath killers… Good luck!
