thanks for the response. do u mean to say in spite of removing gluten and milk, still it was not fully effective in curing the tonsil stone problem? In my case, i’ve not come across a stone since i stopped milk products. But not having tonsil stones has not cured my bad breath though it could have reduced a lot. I have hyper acidity and that seems to be the real cause of my oral odour. My sense is that the acidic content permeats into the mouth and becomes a fertile ground for bacteria to thrive. that causes the odour. I have started gargling with hydrogen peroxide. this completely eliminated whatever odour which was left in my mouth. but this stuff is a bit harsh i think. I’ve heard about Therabreath.I think it could be a better option to Hydrogen Peroxide. I am in Mumbai.Let me see how to get it here and also the pricing.

How I cured my tonsil stones.
For the past 2 years Ive had tonsil stones. Every other day I would have to press on my tonsils to get them out. 3-8 at a time. It was horrible, but I wasnt too worried about it. Over the course of a few years I developed a toenail fungus infection. I decided that I would finally do something about that and take lamisil. I am now on month two of lamisil and since I have been on this I have been tonsil stone free for over 1.5 months. I have about 1 more month left of lamisil. This leads me to believe that tonsil stones are type of fungal/yeast infection because they are white and all yeast and fungus’s are white. I urge you to try an antifungal to see if it helps.

Wow Biju, stfu. We get it. Some of us have tried removing gluten and milk from our diets. It doesn’t always work. If you want an alternative to surgery or scratching them off, there is a product called Therabreath that has saved my life. It’s a rather expensive mouthwash, anywhere from 16-36 dollars depending upon where you live, but COMPLETELY worth it. I suffered with these things for almost 4 years, dealing with clueless doctors and useless remedies. I was adamant about not having my tonsils removed being that ever since I was little my immune system has been very poor. After I tried this wash, I was cured. I haven’t gotten them since. I’m 18 now and finally I am not tied down by bad breath or constant coughing. Hope this will work for you all too!

i know this it’s what happens to me. I used to get step throat really bad then i stopped getting it and had this happen. Now i can’t get rid of it! if you find anything that works please let me know.

no go. i tried it but they still came back. now i’ve noticed new areas in my tonsils that they hid in. It’s like they’re making their own tunnels. :( man it freaks me out!

When I first started to get my tonsil stones my doctor told me taking out my tonsils would not likely cure it. Due to the fact that the tubes Or passage, not sure of the name are still there. Most people still get them just not in the tonsils anymore. I started to really think about my history surrounding the my stones. I use to get strep three sometimes four a year. So bad I would be bed ridden for weeks. My doctor was beginning to run out of antibiotic option. Then they just stopped. About half a year later I got stones. It’s been just about five yrs now. The strangest thing is I have not been sick with anything other then non viral issues. Like my gallbladder attack. Is this a link. Really curious about everyone else.

Youre not supposed to shove it down your throat like you’re used to. You keep it a little bit back, and you basically spray it, not for long, just enough to get rid of em. Lolol

There are other causes of tonsil stones as well. I was on birth control pills for a while when I developed what I believe was a post-nasal drip caused by the increase in estrogen. Post-nasal drip can cause tonsil stones to form. I had developed an infection in my tonsils and they were severely swollen along with huge tonsil stones. I had them removed back in September.

I had tonsil stones from March until September. I used a q-tip and a flashlight like you did, and occasionally there was some blood, not much though. Your tonsils are very sensitive and most doctor’s don’t approve of such extraction measures because it can damage the tonsil if you’re not careful. If your tonsils are swollen, that means you have an infection and I’m afraid that you will need to see a doctor. My tonsils were also really swollen and I constantly had a bad taste in my mouth. I didn’t realize mine were infected until I finally gave in and had them removed. The doctor said that we were very fortunate to have them removed when we did.

I am surprised that nonone is giving heed to my reply which clearly shows the real reason for tonsil stones - milk. I am reproducing it below:
“Dont remove your tonsils for tonsil stones. Most of the medical community is unaware about the real cause of tonsil stones. Its simple. THE SOURCE IS “LACTOSE INTOLERANCE”. You do not have the capacity to digest the lactose in the milk. The undigested lactose gets thrown back and gets deposited in the tonsil area. If you want to test this, stop consuming anything which has milk content for two weeks. You will not have new tonsil stones. Good luck”
